Well my first and main reason for purchasing this camera was because I like to take pictures of all of the places I go and I don't like having to pay for them being developed just to find out I don't like most of them and also I wanted to be able to email PICS to my friends without having to scan them which means you need a digital camera. I had tried the Intel PC Camera PRO which served the purpose very well except for the fact that it had a USB wire which meant I had to take my laptop with me in order to take pictures. Dragging a laptop with you and having to have it out and on and all that is to much just to take one picture so I went looking for an alternative. I had looked into other digital cameras such as the Sony Mavica and Nikon CoolPix but these were far to expensive for my amateur use. I was looking for something cheaper but still with good image quality and I looked online for quite a while and ran across this camera and researched it extensively and after seeing it reviewed on TechTV I decided to buy it and try it out on a trip to Germany I was planning.
* Compatibility
This camera is useable on virtually any computer. I have tried it on my HP 8650, HP 6120, Packard Bell Legend Supreme and my Gateway 2000 9100 Series laptop and I have not had any problems at all from this camera. Also installation on all of these computers was quick and easy thanks to the geniuses at Intel. You simply plug in the camera into your computer via the USB wire included with the camera and then insert the CD-ROM and it immediately starts the installation which takes only 2 mins and that was on my laptop which is only a 233MHZ. Once installed you can simply disconnect the camera and go take your pictures then when you get back to your computer just plug the camera back up via USB and then it automatically downloads all of the pictures you have taken to your computer in the software provided with the camera. As far as it working with any computer it works with every computer I have tried it on with ease and I have tried it on 6 computers and it installed and ran flawlessly.
* Uses
This little feature packed camera has a multitude of wonderful uses. For example my Mom recently purchased a new BMW which we requested EURO delivery on because first of all she is German and secondly it saved us some money. Well, as we all know Germany has some beautiful sight and places to visit and even better if you are driving through Germany! Well, I took the Intel Pocket Camera with me as well as my Nikon 35 mm camera because I wasn't sure just how well a digital camera would work. My first day I started taking pictures from the plane window of the sunset and of takeoff. Now with my Nikon when I took pictures of the sunset they came out very well but the take off pictures were badly blurred due to the high speed. Well, to my surprise when I took the same pictures with my Intel Camera the sunset as well as the takeoff pictures were perfectly clear and unblurred. I mean in the picture you could actually see the runway lights in detail and unblurred and this was at 200mph! My Nikon even at its fastest shutter speed couldn't do that! Well, that's one of the uses I have found the next great use I found was at a birthday party I could take VIDEOS of the birthday boy for his 5th birthday getting his birthday cake saying no one else can have any cake because it all his and then smashing his face into it! You can really capture some great memories with this camera! Also I think I should mention it can also be used as a WEBCAM and it has very good image quality for that as well.
* Reliability
This camera is capable of holding 200 high resolution pictures which means you rarely have to worry about its memory being full and you not being able to take any pictures and also since it runs on 4 AA batteries which provide a very long life if you do manage to run the batteries dead in one photo shoot you can just put in new batteries instead of having to go home and charge it up! Now IM not saying it has short battery life because I have taken 2000 yes 2000 pictures with it and it still doesn't have a low battery warning and I find this very impressive! Overall this camera will never let you down when you need it!
* Ease Of Use
This camera could be operated my a trained monkey. It is so easy to use unlike most high-end digital cameras his one functions just like a regular camera. You simply select whether you want high or low res pictures or video mode then you press the shutter button lightly to check light levels which if unacceptable you will be notified by audible tone and then press it down harder to take the snapshot and if in video mode hold the button until you are done recording that's all there is to it its very easy to operate.
* Durability
As far as durability goes this little thing can take a beating. I have dropped it on several occasions on various surfaces such as concrete,asphalt,linoleum,tile and carpet and it still functions just fine and doesn't even have any scratches on it. I would have to say this is due to is hard plastic somewhat quirkily styled case. The case it white and blue and really resembles a toy but everyone who sees it loves the look and asks me how durable it is and I proceed to just drop it and show them:) It still works flawlessly to this day!
* Overall Satisfaction
Overall I have to admit I like this camera more than my Nikon or my Intel PC Camera PRO because of its image quality and it easy use and portability. Also I am very satisfied with this camera because it is durable and has a large array of uses I can even let kids play with it and not fear it getting broken! Overall I have to say Intel has done it again and made a ground breaking product and I hope they keep it up! I am very satisfied..As always thank you for reading my Epinion and any input is welcome!
