Cons: poor image quality, NO FLASH, no LCD,gimmicky, software not compatible with Windows XP
The Bottom Line: I couldn't recommend this camera for any digital photo enthusiast, only children or people with EXTREMELY basic needs for digital photos would be pleased.
Then again, it's only $50.
This little camera could only satisfy children, or the most easily pleased of people.
The camera is even toyish looking. The layout it fine and it's definitely easy to use, a true point and shoot digicam.
The image quality is bad at a meager 640 X 480 , and color saturation and contrast are almost never right.
It can take some excellent photos, but this happens much too infrequently, as conditions must be PERFECT.
The biggest detriment to this camera is the lack of a flash, which is entirely essential to taking photos almost anywhere.
The software is nice and easy to use, I really liked it, but when I go my new PC (with Windows XP installed), the software was no longer compliant. After checking the Intel website, they state that the software is incompatible with XP, and want to charge you some small amount for an update CD. You can get around this by using the Windows XP integrated picture downloader, but then you don't get all the nifty features (like contrast and brightness, although another photo editor could do this).
Another quite large issue I had with this camera was the battery indicator, which tells you if the battery is running low or not. Quite frankly it "lied" to me, and so I had to do an RMA and send it back, not once, but two times!
