Pros: Great sound, small size, comes with remote control.
Cons: No sleep function.
The Bottom Line: Great sound out of a small device. A perfect companion to the iPod, as long as you don't "need" a Radio or CD player. Highly recommended.
tcervo's Full Review: JBL ONSTAGE Docking Station for iPod (ONSTAGEB)
I was looking for speakers for my Nano, to use in the bedroom. I tried another product, but the sound quality was poor. I finally settled on the JBL On Stage II speaker system.
Sound Quality
The sound quality of the On Stage II is very good, particularly from such a small unit. These speakers sound much larger than they are. They're perfect for a small area such as a bedroom or office. The highs are crisp and the lows are not muddled. All around good sound.
Design
The design of the On Stage II is top notch...a perfect pairing for your iPod. It's very small and will fit in small spaces such as a desk or nite stand. It feels very sturdy as well. It even comes with a remote so you can control the volume, skip tracks, etc. from across the room.
Cons
My only complaint with this product is that it doesn't have a sleep function. Since I use this to play music as I'm falling asleep, I'd love the ability to have it turn off after a set period of time. Not a huge deal, since I can just make a "sleep" playlist with a limited number of songs. The unit will stay on all night, but at least it won't be playing music.
Price
Every physical store I've seen this in sells it for $169. However, *many* online stores sell it for $99. I was able to get it for $99 plus about $10 shipping. Look around, you'll find great prices online!
