Pros: Creates smooth, silky skin. Inexpensive, easy to find.
Cons: Runny consistency, ordinary boring scent.
The Bottom Line: I would suggest this lotion for anyone who appreciates good products for a low, low price.

| lslyv102's Full Review: Jergens Skin Smoothing Lotion |
I'm a total sucker for body lotions. For some reason, whenever a new product comes out on TV or catches my eye in the store, I feel the strong urge to buy it. Most of the time, my current moisturizer is working incredibly well, but I keep thinking, "What if this works even better?" So I end up buying it. And most of the time, this lotion isn't any different from anything I had previously bought or used. The ending result: Countless bottles and tubes of half-used creams shoved to the back of my cabinet or stuck into some sort of storage box in my closet. Sometimes I think about tossing some into the trash, but then I feel guilty for throwing money away. :( Recently, I've been able to control my lotion addiction, and most of those partially filled containers stored away have been either used up or given away. But a few months ago the temptation of another new product took over me; Jergens Skin Smoothing Lotion. I had spied it on sale in my local supermarket for an amazingly low price of $4.99 for a huge 30 oz. pump bottle. What a deal! I couldn't resist but snatch it up and bring it to the cashier. Plus Jergens claimed that this lotion smooths and moisturizes skin. I always had less than perfect, slightly bumpy legs and arms so I was really hoping that they lived up to their promises.
MY EXPERIENCE:
After my shower, I whipped out the bottle of newly bought Jergens lotion. I have a bad habit of applying excessive amounts of product; the idea that "the more I use, the better it'll work" is branded in my head. So I tried to go easy on the application this time. The lotion was easy to apply evenly on moist skin, and absorbed quickly into my dry skin. The scent was pleasing; not exactly what I would call heavenly, but it all depends on each person's opinion. After about a week or two of daily usage, I could really tell that my skin had become slightly smoother and silky soft. The super-size jug of product seemed to last forever; even now after about a month and a half of use, the bottle doesn't even feel an ounce lighter.
conclusion: This lotion does what it says; smoothes and moisturizes. Personally, I have found other similar products that work better at doing this, but for the price you can't beat Jergens. Your whole family will be able to share this size bottle. The only reasons why I converted back to my St. Ives Whipped Silk body moisturizer is because I prefer a thicker, less watery lotion and the flowery orchard smell of St. Ives is irresistible. For others though, Jergens's Skin Smoothing Lotion may be their new favorite daily moisturizier.
