Believe it or not, I have survived this long without a set of measuring spoons in my kitchen. Really! I'm a "pincher" and a "eye-baller" when it comes to spices and things. It's very hit-or-miss, and I don't know why I didn't buy a set before.
Recently, I decided to buy myself a nice set of measuring cups, and got the MIU France Stainless Steel 7-Piece Measuring Cup Set. I really liked it, so I bought the matching set of MIU France spoons. (I bought these from Amazon.com.)
Pros:
These spoons are very well-polished and pretty to look at. I also like the oval bowls which will let you scoop into narrow jars more easily. They also have very long handles.
This set of MIU France spoons has 5 spoons: 1/8-tsp, 1/4-tsp, 1/2-tsp, 1-tsp, and 1-tbsp; basic standard sizes. (FYI: MIU France also has a set of odd-size spoons available, and it contains: Smidgen, Pinch, 2-tsp, 1&1/2-tbsp, and 1 tbsp.)
The measurements are labeled very clearly, and embedded so that they won't wear off.
Cons:
Like the MIU France measuring cups, these spoons are not labeled with metric measurements.
Some other sets of spoons come with a 1/2-tablespoon size, but neither this spoon set, or even the odd-size set of MIU France spoons seem to have this.
I paid $17.49 for this set, and that's kind of expensive. You can easily get a nice set of stainless steel measuring spoons for $10 or less, and they'll work just fine. I chose these because I liked the MIU France cups I bought, and because I liked the way these looked: the oval bowls are both functional and pretty. I also like the long handles.
These spoons are held together with a key chain loop - it's very sturdy, but not easy to remove. I removed the loop and don't plan to use it. But if you like keeping your spoons together, the sliding loop is very sturdy. If you want a loop that's easier to remove, you can get one of those binder clips from an office supply store, which are very easy to remove - I've seen some other sets of spoons come with that sort of loop.
I've noticed that some other brands of spoons (e.g., Cuisipro) have bent handles that lets you balance the spoon on the counter-top. I don't usually lay my spoons on the counter and pour ingredients into it, but I still think that's a useful feature that's missing from this set.
Conclusion:
These MIU France Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons are pretty, durable, and functional. I like them a lot. I mean, they are just spoons, simple little things, but so far they've been very handy in the kitchen, and I can't believe I did without them for so long. I expect that these will last basically forever, unless I lose them. The only thing I would change about these spoons is that they are labeled with metric measurements. I would buy these again.
