Pros: Quick start, fast boiling, fits nicely
Cons: Fuel is non-refillable, more expensive
The Bottom Line: If you are new to backpacking, this is a great stove. If you know how to light a white gas stove, buy one of those.

| wcdaniels's Full Review: MSR RapidFire |
I bought a RapidFire on eBay for about $20. I think it was a good buy. One of the main advantages of the RapidFire over many other stoves is the fuel. The IsoButane lights very easily, and does not take a lot of fussing, like many of the multi-fuel stoves do. That means that you get to cooking sooner. I also did not have any problems boiling water. In fact, this was one of the quickest stoves I have ever seen. My water was boiling in under 4 minutes, in about 40 degree weather. One thing that may have influenced this is my fuel brand. I did not use MSR fuel, but another brand (the name escapes me, it's in a bright orange can). It says that it is made for high altitude use, but it works great here in Michigan.
The downside is the fuel canisters. It can really take some searching to find the fuel. White gas is much more available. Also, if you are out on the trail, and something happens to your fuel, you may be out of luck to try and find someone with an extra fuel canister. It is much easier to have a refillable stove at this point.
