| burnbabyburn's Full Review: Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation |
About a year ago, a friend of my introduced me to MAC products. Her complex was absolutely flawless! I had to know what she used on her face. She says she loves MAC make-up. I didnt even know what MAC was! I've always been the type of girl to get all my make-up products from the drugstore. It's all the same anyway, right? Apparently not.
I'm not one to wear make-up on a daily basis. Main reason being that I'm too lazy. Liquid foundation just took too much time. That's why MAC StudioFix foundation was perfect for me.
I was a little intimidated at first. The MAC counter was in the middle of Nordstroms. Im not your typical Nordys shopper. I definitely felt like I needed to dress up for this shopping excursion. Surprisingly, the men and women behind the counter were very friendly and courteous. I had the trendy girl help me find my best color match. She showed me how to apply it using a foundation brush (I never even knew foundation brushes existed!). I love the sleek black compact. Unfortunately, the plastic hinge on my compact broke after about 6 months. Not so easy to take with me anymore.
The foundation is a little pricey
.when compared to drugstore foundations. But a little goes a long way. Thus I think it is actually more cost-effective to buy a good foundation like StudioFix.
I do have oily skin. The sales rep indicated that StudioFix is best for people with normal-oily complexion.
Be careful if you use a heavy moisturizer or anything that makes your face sticky/tacky. This pressed foundation just doesnt go on as well.
StudioFix gives good coverage. Its not just for drag queens! A friend of mine says she doesnt use MAC products since they are too heavy and thats why drag queens use it. I havent found StudioFix to be heavy at all. If you use too much, as with any product, it can be heavy. I think the key for light even coverage is the use of an application brush (i.e. foundation brush).
