Pros: Pros
Very clear and detailed display, excellent reliability and performance
Cons: Cons
Offers roads which are not my preferred routes.
The Bottom Line: No more missed turns! Traveling is now a new experience. You can focus on the road. It even tells you the answer to the question, "Are we there yet?".

| eye144's Full Review: Magellan RoadMate 300 Car GPS Receiver |
I bought it after seeing what the GPS units could do while traveling with a couple of friends. I was aware of the shortcomings mentioned below, but wanted to be able to find locations in areas I wasn't familiar which were nearby. I also wanted to be able to take long distance trips and have a reminder for turns. I also love knowing what is nearby while traveling. I own a lot of maps, But they are getting very hard to read. I got glasses so I could see street names, but now I can easily see them inside the car. I like not having to strain my eyes to see the fine print.
I don't have to worry about not seeing the street name or address when it isn't posted.
I don't have to rely on a co-pilot who doesn't like to follow or read maps. No one has to be "on-duty" or take blame for missing turns or not being able to describe what we are passing.
A few years ago these were about 1200$ and now this has dropped to under 400. I have had it for over a month and used it daily and it is a great tool.
