I can't express how excited I am that Epinions has finally added Mary Kay to their line up of products to review.
I have been using Mary Kay skincare and make up for years, and don't stray except for my mascara and one of my lipsticks. I live in the stuff.
If you aren't familiar with the Mary Kay skincare line I can tell you that up until recently it had 5 steps... cleanse, exfoliate, freshen, moisturize, and protect. They do have a new 3-in-1 cleanser which takes care of the cleanse, exfoliate and freshen steps all in one, but I guess I am old fashioned. I like the feel of doing my freshener seperate and I like taking the time to relax during my bi-weekly mask.
But back to the cleansers.
I have tried all the Mary Kay cleansers including the new 3-in-1 but tend to stick with the Deep Cleanser in the summer months and the Creamy Cleanser in the winter... and this combination has served my skin well.
Mary Kay's Deep Cleanser is designed for oilier blemish prone skin and while I have combination skin with only a few blackheads, I hate the feeling of summer grime. The Deep Cleanser removes it, no questions asked, no having to repeat the process. Unless I am really sweaty though, it is a bit too much for my drier areas of skin.
The rest of the year, when it is not so hot my skin needs the balance of the Creamy Cleanser. It is soft enough to treat any dry areas on my face, but still packs the punch when it comes to removing dirt. And it helps make my skin soft. That is my favorite feature of it!
The best part of Mary Kay is that you have an individualized consultant who is there for you. They give you updates, samples and advice... no other cosmetic company does that with the knowledge and expertise that Mary Kay has.
Are you going to pay more for Mary Kay? More than what you buy in Walmart maybe but not more than department store brands, and it out performs all of them.
