| blacksheep's Full Review: Max Factor Lipfinity |
Before I bought this, I usually used Jane's flavored lipstick in Choco-lots. Recently, I purchased a similar color in Revlon Lipfinity.
At first, I thought the $9.99 tag was too pricey, but I had heard rave reviews and decided to try it anyway. Looking back, that's really not so much to spend on a lipstick - I'd easily spend $5 for one half as good, and this one doesn't need frequent reapplication, so the same amount of lipstick will last longer.
You're probably thinking that when I say longer, I mean a couple more hours. I mean at least a day longer! Believe it or not, I actually haven't reapplied my lipstick for over 24 hours. That's right, I put it on yesterday, went to bed in it, took a shower in it, and it's still perfect!!
The lipstick consists of two components: the color, which you apply and let dry for a minute or so, and the gloss, which is like a normal moisturizing stick. The color is where the magic is - even if the gloss layer rubs off, the color doesn't go anywhere. Re-glossing is easy, you can carry the moisturizing stick around with you and reapply if your lips start to feel dry (this has only been once or twice for me).
I've tried a kiss-fast lip coating before, and it had two disadvantages - it stung my lips when I applied it, and it flaked off/got a 'grainy' feelling. This does neither, it feels as good as, or even better than normal lipstick.
It can be removed with makeup remover or baby oil - the oil is what does the job.
The colors are a bit different than what you see on the package, so it helps to open the package and take a peek inside. I did this at Target, and while I know you're probably not supposed to, I think you will be able to if you do it carefully and don't damage the packaging. I bought the color "Enthusiastic", which is a bit darker and more purple than the box suggests.
The one thing that you have to do is be sure you apply it nicely. You can fix it with a q-tip soaked in oil, but since you won't be touching it up during the day, it's best to make sure it's perfect before you leave. Once it's applied, you're set for a long time.
