Pros: bottom freezer, w-i-i-de fridge and deli drawer.
Cons: rattle, door and drawer closure
The Bottom Line: Not a lot of manufacturers any more- this is built by Amana. We liked the style- and we like the unit

| lenkearney's Full Review: Maytag MFI2568AES Stainless Steel (25 cu. ft.) Bot... |
Wife wanted a bottom freezer, (we switched from a side by side). We wanted a freezer that could hold a turkey and a fridge were you could put in a pizza box. Not a lot of options (Maytag, Kenmore and LG) - we wanted the water and ice on the outside (what idiot figured people would want one on the inside?).
My wife really likes it. Couple things, can't open the fruit and vegetable drawers if you only open one door. So you end up opening both doors more than I thought. Also, door closing is not as automatic as last fridge, you need to make sure the doors close.
Fully loaded (the bottom freezer holds a lot) it takes a good tug to open the door, sometimes the unit moves forward with you. NEED to make sure the freezer drawer closes- we got a lot of frost very quickly when we (ehhh, ok- ME) left it slightly open. Open door alarm appears not to work with the freezer.
The shiny black shows finger prints more than we thought. Either that or we have a kid living here I don't know about.
Ice maker does take up a lot of room, but does not seem to be an issue. I HATE the can/bottle holders on the door. I think the beer bottles are going to get me everytime I open the door.
Maytag claims this is ultra quiet- ok it is quiet, but has an occasional rattle (something banging around - they can't tell me what it is). You can hear it under normal operations, though it is slightly quieter than our old GE.
