Way Overpriced Milwaukee Brewers Jimmy Mesh Shorts
Written: Jul 19 '08
Product Rating:
Pros: Brewers logo and light mesh shorts, comfortable!
Cons: Overprices at $30, you can buy 3 pair of similar shorts, sans logo!
The Bottom Line: You can do better without the pricey brand name and logo. Reebok? Brewers? Mesh shorts? Even the most die hard fan does not need these!
JBduckling's Full Review: Milwaukee Brewers Jimmy Mesh Shorts
One of the benefits of having a summer birthday is you can get cool baseball gifts, as it is the season! This year is no different except due to my career change, I now have plenty of time to wear shorts at night and weekends. My supply was running low, so my mom-in-law was super and for my gift from her, I received a pair of Milwaukee Brewers Jimmy Mesh shorts. I had no idea how much she paid for them until I took them back for a "larger" size, as XL was needed and she purchased an optimistic Large! I was shocked as the price was $29.99!
Why was I amazed at the high price? while in many cases, you expect to pay more for Official Major League Merchandise, these shorts were mesh, with a screened logo! $30 for shorts with an embroidered logo, I could see, but a screened logo which will melt and fall off after a couple of washes? I know I would not pay that much for them.
Why the big price?
First, they are manufactured by a big name sports clothing manufacturer, Reebok. Just putting the Reebok logo on the shorts adds some coin to the price.
Second, they are officially licensed by Major League Baseball, complete with the hologram and number to prevent counterfeiting. The Brewers circle logo is screened at the bottom of the shorts.
Similar house brand mesh shorts or non-licensed clothes would run at a minimum, 50% less! The shorts are a nice navy blue color, Brewers blue-gold-white logo, and light. They are 100% polyester for easy care, and the light mesh material makes them cool to wear, great for working out or on the baseball field at practice. They are casual so house wear is fine.
There is a comfortable elastic waistband with a drawstring for an adjustable fit. The inseam is about six inches, could be a bit longer but still extend to the knees.
Final recommendation? You can do better as these are shorts not official or authentic uniform wear. I am willing to pay for the "real deal" the same the players wear but not for over-priced mesh shorts with a little logo at the bottom. Save your money!
Whether you're running, working out, or kicking around, you'll stay cool and casual in these Milwaukee Brewers Jimmy Mesh Shorts from Reebok. Features...More at FansEdge
