| Blaize's Full Review: NEC DigitalTalk MAX 2100 Cell Phone |
This was one of the two phones that my provider offered in a promotional. I selected the NEC out of my prior good experience with other products.
The phone is solid. When you hold it it feels like you have something in your hand. The volume is fully adjustable to a very loud level that One would not normally use so full volume is never required. The clarity on both ends is remarkable. When I use this phone the party on the other end cannot tell that I am on a mobile phone. I can hear every word as if I were on a hard wired phone. "Two thumbs up" on the performance of the phone, the primary feature of any phone (after all, I got it to talk on it).
There are many features, more than I care for. However, they would be nice if I needed them. The user's manual is very complete and easy to understand. Anytime I need to program one of the features (auto dial, local service only, etc) the manual walks me through the process step by step and I am always able to accomplish my goal on the first try.
Accessories are a bit difficult to find unless you return to the dealer from which the phone was purchased. I tried several large chains attempting to find a leather case and could not find one that fit the NEC. However, my dealer had exactly what I wanted at a comparable price. (Unfortunately he does not stay open long enough to be convenient for me.)
