| maggsmomm's Full Review: Neutrogena On the Spot Acne Patch |
Neutrogena On-The-Spot Acne Patch was a must have. I never went without them. Then one day they were gone, off shelves everywhere and I only had a few left. No warning, Neutrogena pulled them for what seemed like forever. Now they are back.
The Package Gives Its All....
If it's the old packaging or the new packaging both let you know they mean business. The older packaging is the box pictured, small and square with dots all over a models face.
The new packaging is a long box with a description of the product. Both serve the same purpose, letting us know what the product is intended for.
Do not be confused.
I researched this and BOTH are available, although the Original (the one pictured here) has been discontinued.
I have no recollection of an expiration date, but I'm certain there is one. I would inquire as to what it is before making a purchase of these over the internet where I found them widely available. (again the older version-you can buy them virtually anywhere).
Spots, Dots and Circles....
The idea behind this product (and a few other brands that came out with dots and soon disappeared right behind them) was to "spot" treat pimples or soon to be pimples overnight. It is a great concept. You remove the clear, sticky, circle off the backing and place it where you need treatment.
Each package contains small and large dots for different sized spots. Each circle contains 2% Salicylic Acid which is what treats the pimple overnight, diminishing it greatly. They feel cool going on and don't slip and slide around your face. They stay put all night.
However if you miss your spot and try to remove the dot its not going to stick very well. You don't want to have wasted a perfectly good treatment. And these are pricey, back in the day they cost me almost 7 dollars a box-maybe the reason they were discontinued and then brought back to life.
Stick Em ...
Here, there, anywhere on your face, where the trouble is or is beginning. You're ready to go to bed. If you are sensitive to salicylic acid these may not be for you, however it wouldn't endanger your entire face!
If you're just starting to get a bump you may notice it has diminished or is completely gone the next day, a big bump could possibly be much smaller because these deliver constant treatment all through the night. Whereas cremes and toners dry up and come off.
I never experienced any skin irritation and since it was localized to one small place I was very happy with the results. Obviously I was only using these for the occasional stress pimple and I would not encourage anyone with broader skin problems to attempt to use this product.
I Like Em!
I recommend these. Even at 7 bucks a box for less than 20 dots they are fun, they work and are so convenient. I feel like I'm an expert in the lonely stress pimple department so-I say give them a try as soon as they hit your shelves. You can't go wrong.
4 Stars because we cant get our hands on them.....Yet.
