What is there to say about this game?
For those who have only just stumbled upon this game, it is described as a crossover fighting game in which characters from numerous other games (Mario Bros.,Pokemon, etc) are conveniently placed into one game for the delight of the player.
Based in 2D worlds, the aim is to kill your opponent. Instead of a life meter such as in street fighter, you deal damage to your enemy, increasing their life percentage. The higher the percentage the easier it is to send them flying off the stage into oblivion. You can also kill yourself or opponent by falling down off of the platform
The game features 26 playable characters with newcomers from the previous smash bros including, young link, sheik/zelda, peach, marth, roy, ganondorf, mewtwo, mr. game and watch and you get the idea... more players equals more fun for some. Each character has its own semi unique set of moves.
A button attacks generate aerial and ground attacks as well as the super charged smash attack to do massive damage. B button attacks are special attacks which range from countering moves, to projectiles, to recovery moves. the z button or pressing shield and A together allows for grabs. In this game compared with the previous one, there are now four throws, each one corresponding to a direction (up down back forward.)
new stages have been made as well. generally each stage has a theme from a nintendo game and includes its unique set of characteristics. usually something in the stage changes, something in the stage can hurt you, or in certain cases nothing happens.
the game also features new single player games such as the home run contest and adventure mode. There are a number of mini games which you can play with your friends but generally they get boring after awhile. the same goes with the other 1 player games. It can keep you going for hours though if you want to unlock everything and get all of the trophies.
The real reason to buy this game is to play with friends. This game is great for the casual gamer but also leaves much room for developing skill. Techniques such as l-canceling, SHFFLing, wavedashing, and more allow the game to be played at an incredibly fast and competitive level. Just watch the youtube videos of "Ken" and other smashers. If you are competitive like me it is an enjoyable game to play.
Honestly there is a lot more to say about the game but in conclusion its a great multiplayer game to have if you want to entertain your friends or compete with others. In my opinion its even better than the new brawl that came out.
