| stan-c's Full Review: Nokia 5120 Cell Phone |
I bought three Nokia 5120 phones about 9 months ago. They have all provided excellent service. When I made my purchase I was assured that I would be satisfied with the battery life, and so far I have. One of the phones is probably one about 4-6 hours a day, one about 2 hour a day and the other is only on when my wife wants to make a call. The batteries have all provided extended hours of service with each charging. I believe they all last at least a week and a half off each charging. There is a larger battery available for those that use their phones extensively. One last thing about the batteries. You must charge the phone per the instructions the first two times. After that you can charge it any time and for any length of time.
Enough about batteries!
* The phone is small and light weight.
* The display is sharp and clear, even for those of us who forgot our reading glasses. :)
* It has many handy features.
* One of my favorite is even with the phone "locked" you can call one number, home for me, without unlocking the phone.
* The antenna is fixed, so you don't have to raise the antenna to use the phone.
* It has three timers, a last call timer, a lifetime timer and a timer I use to match up with my bill. I have to remember to clear it monthly.
* It has some simplistic games that help keep the kids quiet on semi-long trips. (They are also useful for fully discharging the battery before putting it on the charger.)
* It has a phone directory that will hold about 100 numbers.
* Any of the last 10 numbers dialed can be recalled without running through the directory.
* The sound is usually very sharp, but the max volume is not always as loud as I'd like it to be.
* There are several feature that I've not used, so I'll not make comments on them at this time.
The one problem I've had with two of my phones is the display will blank out when the phone has been on for a while. When I took my phone to the repair center, they talked like this is a fairly common problem. They installed a pad under the display to keep pressure on the display and the problem has not come back. It only took about 15 minutes to get it repaired.
