| pestyside's Full Review: Ocean Spray Cranergy Cranberry Lift |
Stress, what stress? My house needs to sell, theres an incredible amount of projects that need to be completed, its 90 degrees outside, I dont have central air conditioning, my husband has started a new job in a town over 1000 miles away, the two demanding large dogs have only me to take care of them, the economy is down and the housing market is nearly non-existent. Theres no stress here and Im certainly producing a lot of antioxidants under these conditions. Wrong! Im a walking invitation for some eager bacteria.
In addition to the above, the physical labor of hanging a ceiling, painting exterior and interior walls and floors, cleaning a garage and pole barn not to mention gutters, maintaining two large gardens and mowing too much grass left me seriously dehydrated. Under these conditions I went to the grocery searching for something low in sugar and capable of keeping me hydrated. Water, Gatorade and Arizona teas have helped, but a new product from Ocean Spray got my attention. On this particular day I wheeled my cart out of the grocery with nearly ten gallons of liquids (and no alcohol). The best beverage was Cranergy Cranberry Lift from Ocean Spray.
About Cranergy Cranberry Lift
Cranberry Lift has a green tea extract with B-vitamins and is blended with grape juice and added vitamins. Its sweetened with Splenda and an eight-ounce serving has 35 calories.
According to The Cranberry Institute "Antioxidants are compounds that are naturally manufactured by the body and/or are ingested, primarily as components of fruits and vegetables, which have the ability to stabilize free radicals by donating an electron, and at the same time, do not become free radicals themselves. Under conditions of stress the human body's ability to produce antioxidants can become severely impaired. Cranberries can serve as a good source of supplemental antioxidants. Simply put, antioxidants protect our bodies from harmful molecules we are exposed to every day of our lives."
A long time ago in the early 1980s I had a friend who ate frozen cranberries like some eat jelly beans and he did this mostly when he was pushing hard at work and in community theater productions. Everyone else would get sick while he never did and that made me wonder about cranberries. He explained they just kept him healthy; he didnt know about antioxidants.
Cranergy energy juice drinks are new and theyre available in two flavors, Cranberry Lift and Raspberry Cranberry Lift. They are both available in two sizes: 46 ounce bottles and 12 ounce bottles (these are in four packs).
I find the clean, cranberry flavor of the Cranberry Lift refreshing, satisfying, energizing, and tasty without the sugarbut Ive always experienced that lift with green tea. Between the two I prefer this over the blend with raspberries. The raspberries weakened the flavor of the cranberry, a taste I really enjoy.
The combination of green tea, cranberries, Splenda and grape juice qualifies as an effective energizer and tasty beverage. I didnt experience any negative after taste, nor did I find this too sweet because of the Splenda. Not all of our local groceries are carrying this yet, so if you dont find it the first time, check out a different grocery store. If you cant find it ask your grocer to stock some Cranergy Cranberry Lift from Ocean Spray. Im fairly certain that if you enjoy cranberries you wont be disappointedin fact you might be pleasantly surprised.
Regarding stress levels, I'm still stressed, but (knock on wood) those eager germs haven't found me.
This review has been submitted into John Temmerman's Health Committment Write Off. I admire his efforts to improve his health but realize we all have health demons and mine is neglecting my nutritional needs frequently allowing myself to become a little too stressed. This beverage really helped keep that under control. Hope you join his w/o.
