joylein's Full Review: Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun Uv Defense Regenerati...
My fair, combination skin seems to go haywire in the summer, as though it has a mind of its own. It is oily in the T-zone, but uber-dry elsewhere. My skin also tends to burn and freckle quite easily as well thanks to genetics...
I try to be fairly vigilant about using beauty products that provide non-greasy moisturization along with a fair amount of UV protection. Finding a really great product that is not super expensive can prove to be tricky.
Enter Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun UV Defense Regenerating Lotion! This product is a moisturizer, sunscreen, and skin "regenerator" all rolled up into one phenomenal product.
Why I Chose This Product I have used similar Olay products before, but had never used any of the Olay Regenerist products, as I viewed them as being for more mature skin than my own. Now that I have come to terms with the fact that I am no longer in my twenties, I know that it is more important than ever to take care of my skin. I was not always consistent about a skincare regimen when I was younger, so I have vowed to take charge and care for my skin.
Skin cancer, unfortunately, runs in my family with my father, grandmother, and uncles having dealt with it at some point in their lives. I never really gave much thought to how serious proper sun protection is until we lost my Uncle Mike to stage five melanoma almost three years ago. Mike's passing really devastated us and made us realize that adequate sun protection is not a triviality...it is an absolute necessity.
I like the fact that Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun contains spf 15 protection while providing a healthy "sun-kissed glow". I need not look like something out of "Night of the Living Dead" while protecting my skin from the sun's harsh rays...
Presentation The packaging of Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun is extremely eye catching. The product comes in an attractive and sleek black, orange, and gold package that is very modern looking. The packaging itself beckoned me to this product...seriously. Nothing about the package seemed to scream "for mature skin only!" The design is stylish and hip, but clearly for adults...no sparkles or teeny bopper stuff here, either.
The product contained within this sleek packaging comes in a white 2.5 ounce bottle with a black pump top. The Olay Regenerist logo is tastefully displayed on the bottle. The plastic bottle is light and perfect for traveling.
The pump top makes it easy to dispense this wondrous product so that you get just the right amount. Like many products, the pump twists to the side to lock so that the product does not squeeze out when you do not want it to. I like having the pump top because there are no caps for me to lose which is perfectly lovely!
Product: The Good Stuff Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun is a great new product! I have been using this product for almost a month now and I love it.
The product has a light, pleasant scent that is somewhere in between fruity and floral yet not altogether overpowering. The scent does not linger too long for those sensitive to perfumes.
The regenerating lotion itself is a light and milky colored and glides smoothly onto the skin. It is not oily in the least bit and absorbs quickly into the skin. Just a dab or two is quite enough for my T-zone (especially the nose!) while I use a little more for drier areas such as my cheeks. If I use too much my nose tends to get a bit shiny from all the moisturizer, so i use it sparingly in my oilier areas.
My schizo skin has not suffered any breakouts from this product. Olay states ion the packaging that it is non-comedogenic, meaning that it will not clog pores.
I use this product under my spf 20 tinted moisturizer each day to provide added sun protection and moisturization. My skin feels smooth and soft to the touch after application. I even apply a bit to my throat area. I do feel that the UV defense factor works as promised as I was out all day at our schools field day and my face did not appear burnt afterwards.
I like the hint of color that Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun provides after a few days use, and the effect is gradual and very subtle. I do not look orangey or overdone, but just seem to have a nice, healthy glow.
I have noticed lately that the overall tone and appearance of my skin has improved, to include how noticeable my pores are. My skin really seems to radiate health and youthfulness and feels softer. The skin tone appears more even. I never really had bad skin, but it seemed to be lacking the glow that it has when I useOlay Regenerist Touch of Sun.
I have always looked somewhat young for my age, but I wish to remain looking that way. Since passing thirty, I have been a little freaked out about getting older or the possibility of getting skin cancer. I feel confident that products such as this provide me with the protection and moisturization I need.
I actually got a compliment about my skin from a lady at an art show I attended. She thought I was in my mid twenties...more like early thirties!!! I would like to think that this product was the reason for such a compliment...but who knows!
What's in This Stuff I am not one for listing the ingredients in a product unless I know them to be known allergens or I know what they are. This product does contain vitamin E, water and glycerin, along with active ingredients such as octocrylene, octisalate, and homosalate.
Unfortunately, I never fared well in chemistry so I will not pretend to know what some of the ingredients are, but I am sure they are instrumental in creating such an amazing product.
Now Go get It! Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun UV Defense Regenerating Lotion SPF 15 is a fantastic product that is well worth a try. I had overlooked many of the Regenerist products in the past because I thought they were for older women. I am truly glad I changed my mind. As I am aging, my skin is changing.
At $18.97 USD this product is not necessarily inexpensive, but it is a real bargain compared to what one can purchase in a department store. I have not found any comparable products for less. You can even find coupons occasionally for Olay products in the Sunday paper.
This is a great skin care product that I can recommend with confidence for women in their mid twenties onward. You can't beat it!
