So glad to be able to introduce you to her work! I've only read two of her books, but I'm definitely a fan. Now to hunt down some of her others... :)

Even before I read your review, I was enchanted by the cover of the book. I'm a sucker for book art and cd/album art. It's just beautiful.
Anyway, I really like books like this but I've never heard of this author. Thanks for the intro :).

It seems so rare (don't know if it's actually the case or if I just remember the bad instances most clearly). It seems as though too many of the books I loved in my early and mid-teens don't look quite as good when viewed through a more experienced lens.
So I was delighted to read this book!

I am certainly glad that I picked it up! Of course, now I need to find the budget to get more of her books. Sigh...

It's cool when you go back to an author years later and find they've weathered the passage of time well! Great review...McKillip's name sounds familiar, but I can't remember if I've read anything of hers before--I'll look for her at the library.

...to find a writer who is humble enough to tell the story rather than impress us with her skills?
It sounds like this book was a real find.
