As I did my food shopping the other day I found myself in the beauty aisles on the hunt for some beauty aids for my teenage daughter. In my travels I came across a number of hair care items that were drastically slashed in price. I found Organix Coconut Milk Split Ends Mender marked down to a mere $2.04 and immediately reached for it.
I opened the bottle right there and sniffed. Now granted, I had already determined that Organix's Vanilla Blow Dry Cream was glorious and so I anticipated a pleasant aroma. I was not disappointed. I found that this too was a product that I wanted to smooth all over my body and just baste myself in the scent. And so another Organix product made its way into my shopping cart.
Use:
Most mornings my own hair styling consists of wash, condition, and blow dry. I tend to use leave in conditioners perhaps weekly and styling products perhaps monthly. I have to admit that since discovering the Organix line that I have taken to using their leave in products daily and the only down-side I have seen thusfar is that my hair is a little more prone to be limp at the day's end.
I purchased this product with my 8-year-old daughter in mind. She is trying to grow her hair long and has a goodly amount of damage to her ends which I am hoping to keep from getting worse before her haircut appointment in two weeks.
It was as easy as towel drying her hair, rubbing a couple of pumps through it (with the prime focus being on the damaged ends), and blow-drying thoroughly.
Result:
Her hair came out glossy and shiny. It is soft and silky to the touch. Not only does Organix Coconut Milk Split Ends Mender make her hair (and my own) look just beautiful but it makes it smell glorious as well.
Unlike Organix Vanilla Silk Blow Dry Cream this Organix product does not seem to add any thickness to the hair, in fact it seems to make her naturally wavy hair lay like spun gold ..... smooth and straight with little effort.
Additionally, I was again pleased to find that while the product did leave a lingering scent to be found when burying your head in her hair it was not strong enough to follow her like a fragrant cloud.
Worth it?
There is no doubt in my mind that this product achieves its promises and managed to exceed my own expectations. At $7 a bottle full price it is a little expensive to use on the hair of an 8-year-old on a daily basis.
However, I do see myself using this product on her hair during the summer to compensate for the drying effects of pool and sun. I also see myself using this product on special occassions to make her hair look its absolute best. Finally, I see us using this product on her hair probably weekly, once her damaged ends are removed, in order to prevent (or at least slow down) future damage.
