| lapook76's Full Review: Origins Never A Dull Moment |
My fiance and I are totally addicted to Origins products. Our bathroom looks like their store. When we do go to the store, the salespeople try to get me to buy things, and I say, "I have that at home already...and that, too...yes, that one, too....Actually, I don't think you have anything here that I don't have...." Very embarrassing.
Never a Dull Moment is one of my favorite Origins products, and that's saying a lot. I bought it because I was looking for something to exfoliate my dry skin without being too harsh. I have been very happy with it.
According to the package, Never a Dull Moment is a "Skin-brightening face polisher with fruit enzymes." The blurb on the back of the bottle says "Papain from crushed papaya dissolves lackluster skin cells and gobbles them up with no irritating friction while finely ground Apricot and mango seeds polish skin to perfection. Skin beams with youthful exuberance. Looks radiant, innocent, untarnished by time or the elements." Sounds good to me.
My 4.4 oz package was not cheap. I don't remember the exact price, but it cost me at least $20 when I bought it at the Origins store in the mall. It is in a small, plastic jar with a twist-off lid. I kind of wish it came in a tube or something easier to manage in the shower, as that is where I usually use this product. But oh well.
For those of you who are interested in ingredients, here's what is in Never a Dull Moment: purified water, orange blossoms, butylenes glycol, lecithin, behenyl betaine, glycerin, polysorbate 60, propylene glycol stearate, polysorbate 20, sorbitan laurate, polysorbate 80, papaya extract, buchu, grapefruit, eucalyptus, pine, bitter almond, field mint, rose essential oils, mango seeds, mango extract, walnut shell powder, crushed apricot seeds, carnauba, papain carbomer conjugate, sodium dioctyl sulphosuccinate, sodium chloride, dimethyl isosorbide, peg 30 dipolyhydroxystearate, propylene glycol laurate, ppg 5 ceteth 10 phosphate, trisodium edta, silver chloride, potassium sorbate, phenoxyethanol, methyl, ethyl, propyl and butylparaben, titanium dioxide. Yummy.
Speaking of yummy, that's what I think every time I open the jar. It literally smells good enough to eat. I have to resist the urge to put it in my mouth. It has a delicious tropical-fruity scent that most people seem to either love or hate. Hopefully you will love it, because the smell is pretty strong.
I'm not all that crazy about the consistency of the product- it is rather thick, gooey, and sticky. Inside of the goop are little gritty things that help with the exfoliation.
The salesperson who sold me this product recommended that I use it once or twice a week, which I do. She also told me that it is more appropriate for regular or dry skin, and so I don't know if it would be good for those of you with oily or sensitive skin.
The instructions say to cleanse your face first with your regular cleansing product, then to "gently massage (Never a Dull Moment)over clean, damp face. Avoid eye area. Rinse with warm water." It doesn't take too much to do a good job, so I find that my jar has lasted me for a long time. So I guess it is a decent value for the amount I paid.
So does it work? Yes! I can see the difference right after using it. My skin has a great glow to it and feels soft and clean. Some products leave me feeling like there is a film over my skin after I use them, of make my skin feel very tight, but this is not the case with Never a Dull Moment. I follow up by using my moisturizer (also from Origins, of course...), and my skin looks great for the rest of the day. It gives me a really healthy look.
I have never had a problem with this product irritating my skin, but then my skin is not very sensitive, and so most things don't bother it too much.
If you are looking for a great exfoliating product for regular or dry skin, give Never a Dull Moment a try. Just try not to eat it.
