Can you spot the 'spot'? I can't!

I have never been prone to spots but I do get the occasional one! Normally from a night out on the town and where I haven’t removed my make up! Naughty naughty, I know!

This product can either be bought in multi-packs each containing 36 duo pads in each with 4 in a pack, or separately with each tub containing 72 duo pads or even separately with each tub containing 36 duo pads. These can be found in most reputable stores and are normally found in the personal hygiene sections of shops. The tub is bright blue and has a purple lid. This is how you differentiate between the sensitive version and the original version. The sensitive version has a light blue lid and the non-sensitive version (the one in question) has a dark purple lid. On the front it has a wrap around sticker. The front has a bright ‘Oxy’ logo written on it in bright red, a nice colour considering you can get red spots. Or you can get big, yellow pusy ones, or black heads (Sorry for anyone about to eat dinner!). Then above this it has a couple of claims that the product will do. These are to ‘help prevent spots’ and that it has ‘antibacterial action.’ On one side it has the barcode and the ingredients. On the other side it has the directions for use, with a diagram showing what side to use for each step, and all the claims that the Oxy Pads should do. And finally there is a side, which explains the cautions and what to do if you get the product in your eyes etc. It also has the contact address. This product’s packaging is recyclable.

Now I recommend this product to anyone who gets any kind of spots be it pusy ones, blackheads or the red ones. It is also brilliant for getting rid of heat spots and gnat bites I have found! This category generally applies to teenagers however. It is also good for removing make up; I much prefer to use this then using make up remover and eye make up remover. It is especially good at removing mascara but do make sure that you don’t get it into your eyes. I find that eye make up remover is a very tedious and a time consuming way of removing mascara. It is suitable for all ages but it does say on the back not to be used on children under 3 years of age.

It is recommended that you use Oxy Daily Face wash prior to using this product but I do not use it and I feel that is simply an advertising scam to get you to buy more of their products. It works equally as well without it.
Now these are duo pads, this mean they have two different sides that need to be used for different things. As you lift a pad out of the tub you can see there is a clear difference in the sides. One side has little indented squares on it (the starter side) and the other side has a wavy pattern on it (it ripples like waves on the sea do)-this is the second side.
You can wash your face first if you wish, but make sure you dab it dry it with a towel prior to application (do not scrub your face to dry it). However, I do not do this I simply get straight down to the point and use a pad. You get a pad out and you use the starter side first, this is the side with the indented squares on it, and you wipe this thoroughly all over your neck and face. This starter side unblocks the pores. I normally use one of these but if I feel especially mucky then I’ll use a second one. Then I use the second side of the pad, the side that has a wavy pattern on it, to wipe all over my face and neck, this then allows the active ingredients to penetrate the pores deeply, ultimately cleansing your skin. After use make sure you do not rinse it off as it will carry on working for hours. It is recommended that you use it twice daily and I normally use it once in the morning and late at night just before I go to bed. This was I do not get tempted to wipe it off.

I find that it does, after you have used it your skin will instantly feel replenished and refreshed. If you feel a great tingling for a long period of time (longer then 20 minutes or so) or receive an irritation stop using the product immediately. If this irritation persists seek the aid of a doctor immediately. You could try using the sensitive version of the duo pads. I feel that it does work, as overnight any spots that I do have disappear by the morning, or if they are very big ones then they are reduced drastically and disappear within 2 days at the most. This works for all kinds of spots blackhead etc. However, if you have a pusy one I do find it best to squeeze them (I know you’re not meant to do this) and then use the Oxy duo pads. I do this because it clears the spot up much quicker then leaving the spot alone! The smell of the residue on your skin is quite pleasant; it smells like a spot cream but doesn’t smell unpleasant, it does smell quite strong for around 10 minutes after application but after this the smell cannot be detected at all. It is also brilliant for taking make up off as it is much more quicker and less time consuming then using the traditional make up and eye make up remover! It is also gentler and feels like it has cleaned your skin better. I felt an instant notice in the improved quality of my skin right from day one. I have been using it for around 3 years now and my skin is spotless! My sisters who are very spotty have also been using it and their spots have cleared up dramatically and now they only have the odd occasional spot appear, which is barely noticeable.
This Oxy duo pad product is suitable for non-sensitive skin; if your skin is sensitive there is a special sensitive version available which would be best for you to use. I have used this before but I feel that it does not work as well as the non-sensitive version, as a weaker formula is used. It is suitable for all skin types right through from oily, combination to dry skin.

Yes I do highly recommend anyone to use this product who want to get rid of their spots, it is suitable for you even if you are spot prone or if you only get the odd occasional spot. it is worth having in this situation as it is fast acting and if you are going out somewhere you can zap that spot instantly. It is also suitable for use by people who do not get spots as they can use it as an effective make up remover. It is quick, handy and cheap. At around £3.99 for a pack of 36 in Boots and £5.99 for a pack of 72 this isn’t an extortionate price to pay to be rid of spots but this is a maximum price that you will have to pay. However, they can be found cheaper in Superdrug, Wilkinsons etc and can be found on special offers in some shops such as BOGOF (Buy one get one free). I buy mine through a man who works for GlaxoSmithKline. I buy them in bulk at around 20 packets at a time and they work out at costing around £1.50 ish per 36-pad tub. The sensitive version can also be found in the same places in shops and retail at around the same price.
