Panasonic has a come out with a lot of good products over the years and this is the perfect size for that child starting college. This is very compact and light at least lighter than most. For just less than one hundred dollars you can give you college freshmen an excellent start with this microwave if they allow them inside of the dorms. If they do not then it would be a good start for their apartment off of campus. I have seen a lot of these all over the place and all of the different stores but they stayed right in the same price range of each other. You could find a lot of cheaper models for as cheap as twenty five dollars but I have no idea how long that model will last. But is it does not last and it breaks down you will not be out a lot of money, all you need to do is just throw it away because it would cost a lot more to fix rather than just purchasing another one.

Description
When you first get this home you will probably think that this microwave is huge from the size of the box but the box and the packing have a lot to do with that. Once you take it out of the box you will notice that it is only 9” x 13” x 13” in diameter and only weighs about thirty pounds. This has a stainless steel look to it. With the exception of the front glass it is a smoked glass in color which you will have a hard time seeing through, but if you try you can see a little bit. This has 800 watts of power and in my book that is sufficient power for someone on college. This only has 0.7 cuft. of space, the thirteen and one half inch turntable inside will hold the average large dinner plate with ease. You will love the ten power levels that this is equipped with even though I have been only using the highest. This microwave has an electronic touch control panel and can be programmed to work for hours at a time. This fits very nice on your counter top but you can also purchase a cabinet on wheels if you do not have the counter space available.

Experience
This is very attractive when it is sitting on your countertop, and it swiftly pops popcorn in less than one minute fifteen seconds. This cleans up with just a damp cloth and the turntable of dishwasher safe. It is very easy to operator this with the touch of just a button or two.  We have been using this for several months and it has not skipped a beat. As long as you keep a lid on top of what ever you are cooking there should not reason to scrub the inside. This also has an easy turning dial that works and is a little bit different from the nine digit key pad that you see on all of the other models. This has a push bar that when depressed will pop the door open when the timer rings. The whole unit is not very heavy and you can move it from table to countertop without breaking your back when doing so.

Conclusion
This comes with a one year warranty, but I have had no reason to even think about calling the company. This microwave has been working superbly ever since we have taken it out of the box. Since this has worked so well for us we went ahead and bought another one for our daughter that just started college. She also told us that it has not stopped working and it is like a community microwave and that everyone in the dorm uses it.
