Pros: user friendly... setting it up to program from more than one disc is relatively easy.
Cons: too many problems to count... it will frustrate you.
The Bottom Line: Wait for something better to come along!

| pelican33's Full Review: Philips CDR820 4-Disc CD Changer / Recorder |
Problems I've had with my 820...
1. Making copies of copies. I like to make a disc, then make a second copy to give to a friend. But, depending on the 820's mood (or the CDR, I guess), some do and some don't burn. I can't figure out why.
2. Gets stuck... ok, here's what happens: I program some tracks to burn and the thing gets "stuck". Its as if it forgot what it was doing and is stuck in limbo. The only way to remedy is to power the unit completely off. VERY FRUSTRATING.
I originally bought the Sony 5 disc CD burner, but returned it in favor of this one because this one will burn programmed sets up to 4 x's, but only when it wants to. The Sony could burn at higher speeds, but would not if you had more than one disc to burn from, in which case, it would burn at regular speed.
My advice, invest in a good CD Burner for your computer and just stick to doing it there. Philips has not provided a unit that gets the job done with this one. BUYER BEWARE. I've heard nothing by nightmare stories in dealing with Philips, their warranties, and their "customer service".
