Pros: It definitely makes your body parts feel smoother.
Cons: Doesn't moisturize enough in the Winter time.
The Bottom Line: This was a nice experiment but nothing that I would recommend to my buddies.

Preamble
Y'all know I love Philosophy products. Every time they issue something new, I'm there, ordering it.
When they first released, The Big Skinny, I didn't really think it would be a product I would be interested in. I'm skeptical when it comes to anyone claiming that they can diminish cellulite. I mean hey - that's a pretty big claim.
And cellulite? Course I got it. It's more on my lower extremities though and I was surprised that Philosophy had targeted this on the upper body.
Product Philosophy
how many diets have you been on? or, maybe the better question is, how many days in the last 10 years have you not been on a diet? diets are just one more way to make us feel bad about ourselves. there is only one choice to make every day and that is unconditional love of ourselves...every inch, every pound and every dimple.
What Philosophy Promises
* Helps smooth body contours and helps reduce signs of cellulite
* Contains antioxidants to protect against free radicals
* Diminishes the appearance of hair and helps retard growth of unwanted hair
Directions
Apply gel twice daily using a circular massaging motion for 1-4 minutes in the affected areas per application.
And I Think What?
My experience is based on using two complete, 8 ounce bottles of The Big Skinny.
The Big Skinny comes in a solid white bottle with a flip-top lid. The actual product is of a milky-yellow/white consistency similar to the hair retardant products put out by Jergens and Aveeno. The smell is unusual - it has a clean scent to it but you can tell that there's something medicinal in it. If you decide you don't like it - no need to worry. It seems to fade very fast.
Applying it is very easy - whether your skin is wet or dry. I find that in both instances, The Big Skinny is easy to massage in to your skin. After the second application (in one day - as directed), I noticed immediately that my skin (specifically my arms), felt lots smoother. It was almost like I had exfoliated them and then applied a thick moisturizer to them. Great feeling! As I went through the entire bottle, in a 3 week period of time, as long as I kept up the twice daily application, it seemed to make my skin have an even appearance. Did it rid me of cellulite? Are you kidding? It's still there.
Now, trying to apply this twice a day can be quite a chore. When I used the first bottle, I was faithful in its application.
The second bottle, I was more experimental with. I even tried to use it on my legs to see how successful it was with retarding hair growth there. I found that it wasn't nearly as good as Aveeno Positively Smooth Moisturizing Lotion. But then, Philosophy didn't make those claims.
When I used the first bottle, it was summer/fall. I could completely skip using any other moisturizer on my upper body when I used The Big Skinny. In the winter time, that's not the case. The product didn't seem to have the extra umph that I needed and thus I had to put lotion on top of this so that I wasn't scratching all day and night.
Throughout both bottles, I did not experience any redness, stinging, or irritation which says a lot because usually, I have very sensitive skin.
The End
Great, but costly experiment for me. I still have cellulite. I still have hair. I'm just out $80.
