| lards's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P9300 Car CD Player |
This Pioneer unit does everything, I mean everything. From variable crossovers on all channels (inc sub), to screaming it's head off as an alarm if you set it up to do so. The whole face comes off, after it's finished beeping at you and automatically slides down. You can turn the reminder off though. It'll even interact with your hands free mobile phone kit, mute or attenuate.
The menus are set up with multi function buttons, as the display changes so do the functions for the buttons. A nice touch, better than having two dozen buttons all over the face, screwing up how good it looks, (less can be better sometimes people).
There is a very passenger entertaining sequence of movies that you can select if you want to, best off watching all these prior to driving the car. You may find yourself not where you were.
I have had a lot of Pioneer headunits, this one is the best so far. CD runs beautifully, good sample rate, hasn't jumped at all, installation is fairly straight forward if you know what you are doing. If you plan on utilising all the features of this unit, then think about getting it professionally installed. As I mentioned, cellular mute, DFS alarm, five channels of RCAs are great, but it can get tricky.
Runs a stacker,(of course), the resolution on the OEL screen allows you to name and then see six disc titles at a time. Handy for when you have forgotten what you have in the 12 disc unit.
You can fine tune your whole system for the drivers seat, and do it with the remote. This is a plus. Saves getting out, to the boot, make changes, get back in, listen, get out, to the boot...you know the drill.
Only "bad"? thing I can say, apart from the funky movies and graphics, but, if that is your style...
Is the mess of a wiring arrangement you have after installation. Those you choose professional install option may never know, do it yourself and,
"Holy crap, how am I going to get all this, in there?"
