Pros: Great sound, nice overall package for the price
Cons: Bulky main unit, small remote buttons
The Bottom Line: This is by far the best system for the money. Try to find another with 5 discs, Dolby 5.1, DTS, and great speakers for under $500. Nothing compares.

| kabbige's Full Review: Pioneer HTD-510DV Theater System |
The Pioneer HTD 510DV DVD Home Theater System is a great deal for those of you looking for an all in one home theater package.
I bought the unit as a Christmas present for myself as an upgrade from my old VCR and my old Pioneer home theater. After exhaustively researching DVD/Home Theaters on the internet, I was surprised to see all of the features offered by the 510DV cosidering it was only $500. After buying it, it quickly replaced my old tuner, speakers, and CD changer, as well as providing me with a player and more modern sound technology.
The easy to set up 510DV comes with a main reciever/player, five surround speakers, subwoofer, remote, and all the wiring. It boasts a five disc carousel that plays DVD, CD, CD-RW, and Video CD. It also has an AM/FM tuner. The unit is rather large and bulky, but it is serving several functions that seperate components usually do.
The speakers have a great sound, with the subwoofer being a paricularly nice surprise. The sound can be drastically tweaked once you have delved into the depths of the remote. It really sounds like I am sitting in a theater while watching a movie.
The basics of the controls are simple, but mastering the cramped buttons of the remotes and seemingly endless menus will take a little more time.
