Zero_Lee's Full Review: Pokemon Silver for Game Boy Color
I was trying so hard to kick my Pokemon habit. I have been a fan since before the whole phenomenon hit the U.S. and became mainstream entertainment.
It was very hard. Seeing as I had a lot of the games for both Game Boy and Nintendo 64, along with stuffed animals, bedsheets, movies, CD's, and other miscellaneous merchandise. But, it was just losing all of it's fun value for me.
I finally caved in and bought Pokemon Silver. To my surprise, I was once again whisked away to the world of Pokemon. But, this time things were different. REALLY different.
At first, I was a little disappointed in the three new starter Pokemon, but I realized that variety is the spice of life. It was weird at first, but as my Pokemon began to grow levels and learn new attacks, I didn't care anymore.
Also, the new features like the clock and cell phone are great. Instead of having to stop playing and check what time it is, you can do it right on your Game Boy. And the cell phone makes traveling more convenient.
Another much needed feature is a little indicator which lets you know if you've already caught a wild Pokemon you may encounter. I had a problem with this in my previous games because I kept catching repeat Pokemon over and over.
I am very pleased with these transformations of Pokemon gameplay. I'm sure that they will get even better in the games that have yet to come.
