Hey! I couldn't help but notice your comment. I used to have the same problems with eyeliners too...I've tried sooo many eyeliners, and out of all the ones I've tried, I can honestly say the very best long lasting eyeliner would be Almay liquid eyeliner. The packaging says it lasts 16 hours, and this liner NEVER smears off my eyelids or anything. It's really great, and you can buy it in the drug store! Give it a try! It's not too expensive, so what do you have to lose?

Prescriptives Cosmetics, Etc. (Reply to this comment)
by warriormaven
Shantel575, I've looked through all of your face makeup reviews hoping to find information on your findings re: mascara and eyeliner products that do not "slide off" of oily skin.

I can not find any product that lasts more than an hour (really) without showing up under my eyes as dark splotches. This really drives me crazy. Most often I can't even bother with eye makeup due to this problem. But it sure looks stupid with my face "made-up" because I need coverage on my oily, blemished face. At age 39...I'm still searching.

Can you please help me? You have no idea how happy I would be for any advice you could offer.

Thank you.

Fantastic review Shantel, and if I could swing the $32, you'd have me sold. I love the idea of the color match, and never thought of using a brush to apply foundation. I am so accustomed to using my finger tip. When I am better able to afford it I want to give this a try. But, I must say, I am pleased with Clinique's Super Balanced. You've just piqued my interest. . .

Well, Shantel, you made me want this, and you made me want this bad! I'm going to have to discipline myself though, since I just bought myself a new bottle of foundation. But I know what I'm going to try when I run out of my current stash.

Not to mention, you really sold me on the foundation brush. Now I know what to get for my mom, my aunt, and friends that are hard to shop for! After reading your review, I mulled it over for a couple days, and I decided I'm just going to get everyone one of these great brushes! (Bet they don't have one already!) What a perfect gift!

Oh, and I'll get myself one too. Since I'm being so generous, I should treat myself too, of course.

Anyway, it was a fantastic review. It gave me a rush, and awaked the makeup maven in me. (is that bad or good?)

I started using Precriptives in 1985 (Reply to this comment)
by Penguinlady

It's by far the best. I used to love their Makeup 1 line, which provided very sheer, totally invisible coverage - really just enough to even out my skin tones. But they no longer make it, and their new lines aren't as sheer.

You and I are complete opposites; I'm very dry and the yellowest of yellows, so finding a decent color was always a problem until I found Prescriptives. But I've always had good skin, so now I'm lazy - I almost never wear foundation. Just a dab of concealer here and there works fine for me.

Thanks for a good review.

Great review Shantel - you go through everything that is so amazing about Prescriptives! You're right about it being the best line for foundations out there, and they have everything covered. Nice job on this one!

This was a terrific review and with all the zest you put into it I'm just sorry it's almost midnight and I can't run out right now to do their thing and find the right one for me.

Then, after reading these comments, I'm gasping.

Thanks so much. Did you say that it makes aging skin look younger, too??? LOL

Girl, that sure was a good time we had, I think of our trip often! This is THE BEST foundation ever made. Oh and to those reading, take her advice on the foundation brush. I let her talk me into spending $30 on this dorky brush, and I'm a total convert. I've never use a sponge again. If something were to happen to my foundation brush, you bet your butt I'd be at the closest Px counter buying another one!

Great review girlfriend!

using a brush to apply foundation. I can't quite picture it, but it sounds interesting. I don't wear foundation enough to invest in this, but I'm sure it's fabulous.

You know..I've seen Elizabeth Arden's foundation color matching thing and it sounds similar.

I REALLY need to try this!! Two products that you recommended (Redken In The Loop and Origins Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Cream are two products that I will NOT be without again...so maybe this foundation will be the same!

As soon as the holidays are over, I'm going to check this out! You and chrisceb will b saying "we told you so!!"

GREAT review!!!!!

Foundation does tend to last a long time, so in this case I am not as concerned about the price as with a lotion. I read an older reviewer on a concealer and the person used a brush to dab it on as well. jo

As you know, I'm sold.

I would have never believed how truly wonderful their foundation is had I not taken your advice and tried it. I would be willing to pay $50 a bottle if I had to, it is that good! Nothing can compare to it.

Thanks for a great review and for introducing me to Prescriptives. : )

I may have to try this out sometimes!!! It's always fun to experiment with something 'special'. And I like Elizabeth Arden's Custom Color foundation, which is custom blended to match each individual's skin with the color pigmentation determined by a computer analysis ... kind of like how Sherwin Williams blends paint to match anything you can bring in for them to scan *LOL* ... but I've only been able to convince myself to spend the $45 to buy the Custom Color once ... (I usually just go with the preblended colors which seem to match my skin wonderfully.) But maybe with the Prescriptives being a bit less expensive I can take the plunge and try it?!?!?!?

Have a GREAT day!
Elaine

....realize that such a review WILL get you kicked off of www.makeupalley.com, right?

(hilarious laughter)

Great review, I will have to check this stuff out- I have been using Photogenic from Lancome, but I mix my own color (spoken like a true artist, who can not leave ANYTHING without mixing it, I guess) and I also have been looking for a brush to put on my makeup since I figured it works best for paint too.......

Great minds think alike, eh?

Glad you took the time to put this review on- sounds great!
