Totally forgot about carrots. I've done them with a vegetable peeler than cut them down with knife for my coleslaw and never thought of using this. Gee, I feel sort of dumb now.

We are "cheese-a-holics" and use our Cuisinart food processor. Because it requires a setup, we do several blocks of parmesan at a time, so that it's ready, on hand. It can be a pain to use the food processor, between setup and cleanup, so it makes sense to use a grater like this for interim smaller jobs!

How about carrots? I prefer grated carrots to sliced carrots in my salads...
