I enjoy jigsaw puzzles. However, the cats love to swipe at the pieces just to see how far they will fly. Imagine my delight when I found the Puzzle Master Deluxe Suite software by eGames. Now I could put together jigsaw puzzles on my computer.
Description
This software includes over 400 puzzles. There are regular jigsaw puzzles as well as a selection of 3D puzzles. A bonus game of Kremlin 3D includes six puzzles featuring: Trinity Tower, Saviour Tower, Pump Tower, Nicoslaya Tower, Tsar Cannon, Tsar Bell. Create your own jigsaw puzzles, too. Also transform puzzles into desktop wallpaper or screensavers.
A nice feature is that you can send jigsaw puzzles to friends and family. Each jigsaw puzzle is saved as a small self-contained executable file. The file only plays the jigsaw sent. You can also write a message and include background music.
This is a 2-CD set that I installed on a computer using Windows XP. Installation was simple. A full install of the game (which I prefer) uses 231mb hard drive space.

Playing Options
When the game starts, you can: Open a jigsaw, Resume an already started jigsaw, or Import an image.
There are four difficulty levels: Easy (4 - 50 pieces), Medium (50-200 pieces), Hard (200-400 pieces), Expert (400-4,000 pieces)... or customize the number of pieces.
You can also choose the size pieces: Small, Medium, Large or customize a size. Also select how thick the pieces are (wood, paper or cardboard thickness).
A variety of puzzles are available. Everything from sports, landscapes, flowers, buildings, animals, musical instruments, rug designs, patterns, art objects and assorted other fun images. Use the mouse to drag and drop the pieces into place.
I am currently doing a puzzle of colorful party balloons. The opening screen showed the title of the puzzle, the name of the creator and date created, how many pieces in the puzzle, and the size of the puzzle in inches and bits.
A timer keeps track of how long it took to assemble the puzzle. Numbers also indicate how many pieces have been correctly assembled. If you need a hint, press a button. I didn’t believe it ... but there is also a button that allows cheating!
Music comes built into the program and can be turned on or off. An advanced features allows you to add your own MIDI, MP3 or WAV files.
My Experiences
The Puzzle Master Deluxe Suite offers a large variety of puzzles with the option of creating new puzzles from .jpg images. With this feature, the variety of puzzles is endless.
It’s fun creating puzzles from my photographs and clipart that I design. I can choose how many pieces I want in the puzzle, if I want “regular” puzzle pieces or different puzzle piece shapes (ex: stars, squares, bubbles or a mix). Note: image quality is important. Some images look pixilated or blurry if they are of low or poor quality.
To easily manage larger puzzles, use on-screen trays to put together puzzle sections and then move the connected pieces onto the main board. At anytime, click a button to view an image of the assembled puzzle. You can also have a “ghost image” of the puzzle in the background (great for younger children).
This game software was a bargain! I have an amazing number of puzzles that I can customize a variety of ways. The puzzles can be as easy or challenging as I wish, and I can save puzzles to complete at my leisure. I recommend this program for anyone who enjoys jigsaw puzzles.
