Pros: Pre-assembled, easy to use
Cons: Battery life is very short
The Bottom Line: This scooter is fun when it works, however battery life is very short. You'd be lucky if you could get 1/2 hour use.

| ahoult's Full Review: Razor Electric Scooter XLR8R |
We just purchased this Razor Electric Scooter from Kmart (normally $99.99, on sale for $79.99). We've only owned it for a week and already discovered it's major downfall...re-charging time vs. riding time.
This scooter comes pre-assembled in the box, which is nice and makes it handy not to have to dig around your toolbox. You just open the box, unfold the scooter, plug in the battery connection and charge it. The instructions say it takes 4-5 hours to fully charge. It also says you can ride it continuously for 1 hour on a single charge. We've discovered that it does not work well in colder weather. My daughter tried to ride it after school on a 45° day and it worked intermittently, then not at all. We put it on the charger and tried again on a warmer day and it seemed to work o.k. She still didn't get more than 30 minutes on it before having power problems again.
It is made for ages 7 and up (up to 120 lbs), goes 10 mph so a bike helmet is a requirement. To engage the motor (after the battery is fully charged), turn the ON/OFF switch to ON, the child pushes off to 3mph and holds a finger trigger on the handlebars to keep the motor on. Let go of the trigger and the motor turns off. There are no handlebar brakes but then I don't think it would be safe to stop abruptly. Very simple and easy to use...WHEN it works properly.
