I'm an amateur woodworker. I have been looking for band saws for about 3 months before I decided on this model. I knew that I wanted at least a 14 in. one. I bought the band saw handbook and read through it to make sure that I knew what I was getting. I decided on the Ridgid model because 1)It has the same design as the Jet or the Delta models 2) good horse power for its size 3) can be upgraded to 12 in throat 4) of course there is a life time warranty from Ridged 5) it's cheaper then the delta or Jet.
When I first got it I had to tune it up to make it perform to the level I wanted it to. I bought the rip fence accessory but was disappointed with it so I found a great band saw rip fence sold by fast track products; I have to say it has made all the difference. I also bought blades from timber wolf and that has also improved the performance of the saw. Overall this is a great deal I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a band saw. it's no INCA but it's pretty damn close.
