I just bought a Roomba, and before I opened it up, my daughter told me that a friend bought one and they suck, and it was not a positive suck as you might expect for a vaccuum. She suggested I return it before opening it. I said "wait, I'll go check epionions first". Low and behold, this review. So I'm on to read the other reviews and then go try it out. With 3 dogs, a cat and a one year old, I need to keep the floors clean.

I am not used to thinking of vacuuming as a form of entertainment. I am also not used to paying $200 for a gadget, but my wife (for better or worse) is. I shall keep this review in mind.

Roomba - I'm in Love (Reply to this comment)

The best thing since slice bread and I'm in love with the Roomba. I have a ceramic tile kitchen floor that is 10x17 and always has something on it, crumbs, dirt, grass, etc., as this is a major entrance into the house. The Roomba is a life saver as far as the kitchen floor goes. It cleans it in no time flat and I never have to worry about the floor anymore. The Roomba cleans the entire floor even underneath the toe kick areas of the cabinets. It travels over the throw rugs in front of the sink and refrigerator with no problem. When using the virtual walls, remember the "eye" it sees with only goes one way (lol), or the Roomba will venture out of the room into the next if you don't set the virtual wall properly. I also have a waterbed upstairs that hasn't seen a vacuum cleaner in 13 years (grin) underneath of it. The Roomba was set to attack that area and I'm amazed at the job it did. The cat hair that has been there for eons is now history. This is one amazing machine that I will never give up. It was well worth the monies paid.

I enjoyed this review immensely. Not only it was very informative but extremely entertaining as well. I usually skim through reviews but took my time and savored this one. Great writing. There never seem to be enough time to do everything and this little gadget sounds great! I want one, too!

Great- uhh, just a few silly typo's to fix under "Design" (Reply to this comment)

In your "Design" heading, when you talk about the rubber bumper:
1st you typed "bumber" you meant "bumper", then
2nd you say that it "will" ... leave a mark. I think you meant to add the word "not".
Otherwise, a great review. Just thought I'd let ya know.

Like Christine, I've "eyed" this thing for quite some time in Sharper Image.
I'd basically determined it was "too good to be true"; and that it was probably just an expensive novelty.
Now that I've read your very thorough review, I also remembered I've always been happy with Sharper Image products so far. Hmmm....,
I'm going to "re-think" this product!

Okay, I'm sold!
I have been eyeing this in the Sharper Image Magazine for some time now. I am so glad to read a positive review on it. Now if I can only convince my hubby to get me one. Maybe I could make vacuuming his job, wait a couple months and then show him the Roomba. LOL : )
