Pros: Reliable and accurate, can use standard copy paper for most tasks
Cons: Expensive ink, Top loading tray can "collect" dropped items
The Bottom Line: If you find one of these on the used market be sure to run the epson self test (find it on the epson support site) before plunking down your money!

| akjim's Full Review: Epson Stylus Scan 2500 InkJet Printer |
Installing and using the Stylus Scan 2500 is straight forward and simple on the Mac G4. Driver updates bring it to MacOS 9.2.2 easily. The unit is light weight and easily moved between work stations if necessary. Printing is at a moderate rate and suitable for a small or home office. An average business letter with color on the letterhead only, printed at default settings on common white copy paper takes about 30 seconds to roll out. The quality is good and if you want it to be excellent you can ask for higher quality and expect about forty five seconds for delivery. I find the default quality more than adequate and opt for that most of the time to save on ink. I also use the scanner and color printing capability to produce customer display items in our office. The quality of both scanning and output is excellent. I have been using it with the optional transparency scanner to get images from slides as well. This is an excellent and reliable solution for scanning slides and photos for web site use. I have operated this unit for two years now with no failures or repairs required. Purchased new with factory rebate, total purchase price after rebate was $99 USD.
