There has been a lot written about this card and having just purchased one I felt it was time to use my experience and write an article. It is somewhat limited at the moment because I only have my MII-333 in and havent put my MII-433 in yet.
The Viper II was very easy to install with it detecting and installing at the first attempt. One thing you have to do with the Viper II is to goto the Diamond/S3 website every week or 2 and download the drivers as Diamond are putting more and quicker features in there driver updates that make it well worth doing. The free Quake 3 level that comes with the Viper II is a specially designed level with S3TC (S3's texture compression) which is becoming more and more well supported and makes a massive distance.
In my machine it lead to a small speed increase but the real difference were the clean crisp textures it really does look excellent and is a big advantage of the card. It also comes with software, hardware accelerated DVD decoding, and TV-out.
Personally I think its well worth getting especially as Diamond are releasing the extended drivers all the time that are making it more and more better. It is also cheap and benchmarks show it up there with the GeForce and it has the extra features over the GeForce.
