Fine with Win98, Trouble with Win2K

Pros: Worked well with Win98: straight-forward operation; durable, auto-sheet feeder

Cons: Problems win Win2K; Not as speedy as newer printers

All the functions of this machine were working fine with Windows 98 but once I upgraded to Windows 2000 Professional, could only get it to print and copy. The scan functions and the Paperport software which comes as part of the software bundle will not work on Win 2K.

Have tried several ways with both Brother support and with Scansoft (now Nuance). It appears that the upgraded Paperport software might work with Win2K but Scansoft has never replied to my inquiries to confirm.

Otherwise, printing and copying are still going strong after 4 years. Just too bad that now I cannot use the more advanced functions.
