goshmonger's Full Review: Epson Stylus Photo 700 InkJet Printer
The Epson Stylus Photo 700 printer is pretty decent. On quality photo paper, with the highest print quality setting, it prints beautifully. It can be ridiculously slow with large, high res images, but for small print jobs it is adequate.
What impressed me most- and what was really my motivation for writing this review, is the product warrantee and Epson's style of honoring it. I've never had a more positive customer support experience with any other company. Here's what happened: About 5 months after I purchased my printer it started to make an incredibly loud grinding sound when attempting to print. I called their customer support 800 number and, after briefly walking me through a couple of unsuccessful troubleshooting tasks, they said they'd ship me a new printer (I got it the next day!), and all I had to do was put the old printer in the box and schedule a pick-up with UPS. They even paid shipping costs. The printer they sent has been working just fine ever since (about 3 years now). Another thing I really like is that although I've upgraded my OS twice (from Win 98 -> Win ME -> Win XP) I've had no incompatibility problems. I don't remember if I needed new device drivers, but if I did they were readily available. I own so much other hardware there is absolutely nothing wrong with, but because the manufacturers havent bothered releasing updated drivers, the hardware is prematurely obsolete. (Hewlett-Packard, for example).
The Epson Stylus Photo 700 color inkjet printer is ideal for creating photo copies so lifelike that it's difficult to distinguish them from the origin...More at eBay
