I get one of Samsung SyncMaster 170T. Great monitor for almost any kind of purposes. Very sharp view with 0.26 pixel make this monitor one of the most popular on the market. Also contrast ratio 400:1, and Colorific calibration system is one of the strongest sides. Dual output options gives you ability to connect it to standard monitor ouput in your computer (analog) or new standard in Digital Video Interfaces called DVI(digital). Everything is cool until you're not demanding user. You can connect your monitor to almost any computer on the market with DVI output...ALMOST. As some of you don't know (including CDW sales people) DVI it's pretty new standard and exist on computer market in couple different versions (more about it you can read at: http://www6.tomshardware.com/display/99q3/990707/tft-3-03.html)
Most popular is DVI-I (24+4 pin) but this monitor comes with cable optimized for P&D connectors (they have 4 more holes on the side) If you have ATI video card than you're safe, but for ex. if you bought new Sony than you need extra cable or adapter to connect your Samsung through DVI.
If you don't care about quality you can connect it through analog port, but if you're real freak :) go with digital.
one more IMPORTANT thing: check your monitor at the store!!! Some percentage of flat panels have "dead pixels" (pixel display same color, barely noticeable but can drive you crazy after some time). It didn't happen with mine but I had little 2 shadows on the side of the screen. It's probably this one piece but it cost me extra time to drive and exchange it at store.
again...I'm a graphic designer and after long research I bought 2 of them and I'm really happy with the quality.
