I stumbled on this unit quiet by accident at a pawn shop. For the price (only $550) I could not let this machine go. As is usually the case, they simply wanted to make a profit against the loan they had issued for the machine. They honestly did not know much about computers.
This one had been very well cared for (looks brand new). I looked at all the features, the built in cd-rom and floppy drive is a real perk. The capability of the unit to play cd's without having to open and turn on the computer is another plus.
Of major importance is the ports in the back of the machine, USB, IR port, and the standard COM, Serial, and Parallel ports. The N3150 also has two PCMCIA ports on the left edge allowing you to easily attach a LAN card. I am running a Sony Spressa (external) CR-RW through the USB, and my Palm IIIc from the COM port. The Pavilion recognized all of these flawlessly.
I would strongly recommend this machine to anyone needing a budget price workhorse.
