I have a bit of an addiction to exfoliating. I am constantly buying products that scrub, polish and buff my skin free from dead skin cells. I thought I was aware of most drugstore brand exfoliators, but this one slipped by me probably because rather than being in the regular skincare aisle it was a couple of rows down in the foot-care section. I snatched up Dr. Scholl's For Her Pumice Foot Scrub as soon as I saw it and have repurchased it twice since. I love this product!
Dr. Scholl's For Her Pumice Foot Scrub cost me $5.89 at Wal-Mart. I've seen in at Rite-Aid and CVS for about a dollar more, so I tend to pick up a tube whenever I'm at Wal-Mart.
The product comes in a upside down clear tube with a purple plastic flip top lid. You get 99g/3.5oz of product.
Dr. Scholls claims:
"Invigorating and moisturizing formula designed to reveal your softest skin. Use regularly to exfoliate, moisturize and revitalize your legs and feet, keeping them looking smooth and feeling refreshed."
This product contains natural pumice and peppermint.
I use this product in the shower, the tube is small enough to keep in there and easy to flip open and use even when the tube gets wet. The scrub is a fairly thick white cream with lots of granuels, so it feels very rough to the touch. The first thing that hits me is the scent of the product, which is a very strong peppermint. I enjoy the scent and don't find it too sickly, although the scent doesn't linger after use.
Directions: Massage liberally into wet feet, paying special attention to rough, dry areas. Rinse well with water. Use daily or as often as needed.
I start by massaging the heels of my feet and gradually working over my whole foot in circular motions. I also like to use it on my legs, knees, arms and elbows. Once I rinse it off my skin feels immediately softer and smoother and there is no residue. After drying off my skin feels refreshed. I always follow with moisturizer, as well as a proper foot cream and Dr. Scholl's For Her Pumice Foot Scrub allows creams to be absorbed really well. My skin, feet in particular, are noticeably softer and smoother. I use this product daily.
I think this is a fantastic quality product that exfoliates very well. It is, however, a product that you have to use regularly to get full benefits from. I've gotten lazy and stopped using it for a few days and my skin stopped feeling as smooth. I now use daily or every other day and find the results are great, as long as I keep using it.
