Re-think this dvd/vcr combo before buying it...

Pros: easy hookup to TV; saves space
Cons: poor remote control design; freezes during dvd play; mucho problemo
The Bottom Line: I would be hard pressed to recommend this unit to anyone at this time due to the numerous problems I have had with it myself.

I have had this Samsung DVD/VCR combo for over a year now. My initial desire for buying this unit was to save space and have a niffy combo unit. Thought I would upgrade from my old cheapy Oritron which has served me well for years. However, since that time, almost every dvd played on it skips, freezes, or just plain messes up. At first, I thought those rental dvds were dirty or scratched causing the poor quality on this dvd. Not so...the unit appears to have some inherent problems in itself. After reading other's reviews of this unit, I don't feel like the lone ranger anymore. Many people complain of the same issues listed above (do a Google search yourself). I have contacted Samsung on several occasions about this problems but have not received a response yet.
Wish I hadn't sold that Oritron at the garage sell now!!!
