So many . . . (Reply to this comment)
by macresarf1
Dear andaryl: Until I began reading your reviews, I never realized there were so many beers and ales, nor what these fruity beers were all about. (Now I know why I didn't like that one made with lemon juice I had at The Mad Dog in the Fog one day last year).
Regards.

It's not truly a lambic (Reply to this comment)

but I find it to have its place. But when you get into more artisinal beers you are bound to leave a lot of drinkers behind. I agree with Midoyle that it should be packaged more in 25 or even 22 oz bottles rather than thrown into sampler packs.

Turkey it is... (Reply to this comment)

Several years ago I bought a six-pack on sale for $2. That should've been my first warning. I never could understand the appeal of this one which is probably why I never see it on the shelves anymore. Last I saw, it was only in the winter sample pack you bought. But even those two bottles is two too many. Ugh. -j

A once a year beer (Reply to this comment)
by MiDoyle
Part of the problem with this lambic is it just doesn't maintain a consistent flavor. It was either too tart or too sweet, and never really balanced in the middle of the spectrum. When it was available around the holidays, I would buy a six of it and then got wise when I found that 5 bottles would remain in the fridge indefinitely. It's a once a year beer and Sam Adams would to better to offer it as single bottles sales, perhaps repackage as a 25 oz. bottle. Nice review. cheers
