| amanda_andrsn's Full Review: Schwinn Sidewinder 2.6 FS 26-Inch Mens' All-Terrai... |
I once owned a women's schwinn sidewinder 2.6 FS, and I have to say that compared to all of the other department store bikes that I've bought, it was a really great bike. It was lighter than the other bikes, and it was really comfortable. I even did a 50 mile road race with it in 3 hours and the bike was in perfect condition the whole way. In fact, it really didn't need much repair at all. Best of all, it had good parts on it, and it certainly was in good working condition. It's a bike that is almost of good quality, but it wouldn't meet the 'All-Terrain' needs. First of all, off-road bikes are specially designed for strength and power on trails, and the schwinn is a bit rough on trails. As for road racing and other purposes like that, I had one heck of time making it to the finish line but I the point is, I made it! The Schwinn Sidewinder meets the needs of City biking and recreational riding. It's perfect for that, and it rides smoothly and its a 'sweet' bike for that purpose only. The schwinn Sidewinder is one of the only bikes that I would consider 'awesome' that is sold in a department store, because of poor quality and poor assembly. I'm glad Schwinn finally started to sell bikes to these department stores, because people who can't afford those high-priced bikes deserve a nice ride themselves. This is a bike worth buying!
