Pros: Virtually eliminates smell. Doesn't HAVE TO be scooped daily.
Cons: Its more like "minimal-track" than "no-track"
The Bottom Line: Scoop Away. Great stuff. Good at almost eliminating tracking issues. Reasonable price. Odor issues are a thing of the past.

| owenzelig's Full Review: Scoop Away NoTrack |
Ah, yes. I get the time to write an epinion, and what do I choose? Kitty litter! Of course. . . that's the obvious item I need to spend my time pondering!
Well, not exactly. But it IS worth my time telling you a bit about the wonders of Scoop Away -- the first "mass-marketed" clumping kitty litter (I know they product category is referred to as "scoopable," but don't we actually perform scooping motions in any type of kitty litter we use?).
I first recall seeing clumping kitty litter in 1990. The scene was a very high end pet store in the Georgetown section of Washington, DC -- you know the kind of place that sells catnip-stuffed mice for $15 each. The brand was Ever Clean. I was intrigued. We had two cats, and nobody in the house was ever pleased about the scooping process. I believe I could say that we downright hated it.
So, after reading all of the promotional literature in the store, I plunked down some unworldly amount of money for a couple jugs of this stuff and a fancy "specially-slotted" scooping device.
I felt really, really silly.
And when I brought my purchases home I received an uncomfortable combination of disbelieving stares and hearty laughter.
But we loved this stuff. I recall telling people at work that it had changed our lives. They quickly and vehemently responded that I must have an overwhelmingly sad life. Admittedly, there are more exciting products on the market, but I was loving this one.
We quickly discovered the cash drain caused by the Ever Clean, but we were determined to march on in our quest for a pleasant-smelling basement.
And, voila, a few months later, Scoop Away appeared on the shelves of our grocery store. We tried it. It worked great. And it cost something like half the price of the Ever Clean.
Since that time, some cats have left us and others have joined us. The Scoop Away folks have provided us with additional formulations of their product. We opt for the "No-Track" version, as we now live in a city apartment and have the litter box in the bathroom. One thing you really, really don't want on the bottom of your feet after departing the shower is stray kitty litter.
And it works well. Not perfectly, but quite well. Cats being cats, they find a way to transport very small amounts of the Scoop Away from the environs of the litter box, but the amount is tolerable and a quick pass of the Dust Buster every now and then takes care of the issue.
While you are supposed to scoop the box every day, we don't. Yes, we're bad kitty parents. I admit it.
But the "proof is in the pudding" (probably a bad analogy when writing of kitty litter) moment comes when you realize that nobody in the house has scooped in four days and you don't even notice (though I'm sure the cats do).
I'd recommend getting a covered litter box with this product, as I would with any clumping kitty litter -- as some cats like to do the "sandbox" thing while attending to their business and spew the stuff over the side.
