| dmfahie's Full Review: SkeeterVac |
We are building a house in Maine, where the Mosquito is concidered the state bird! At our house lot, we are on a Meadow & a brook, very wet, and all of the soil is turned up. We have been tring to camp there, but the very heavy mosquito population has gotten the best of us. We decided to look into getting a mosquito "magnet" type of device. After researching the magnet, I was set on buying one, The downfall was I needed power (which I do not have for a while yet), and the price ($600+ for solar). I stumbled upon the Skeeter-Vac. I was a little nervous, but after resarching the Blue-Rhino, it looked to be a better unit, using no power & alot less money. We went out and purchased the SV-2000. Set it up, very easy, no tools. After we turned it on it we acutally noticed more mosquitos around us & the machine. After a few hours we check it, and sure enough, there were mosquitos and other bugs stuck to the sticky pad that surrounds the machine, as well as a few in the net. We went back today (a week later), HUGE difference in the mosquito population. As well as there were ALOT of bugs on the sticky pad, and alot in the net as well. We wern't viturally mosquito free, but none of us got bitten either. We are very happy with the unit.
