Pros: The machine works phenomenal when its working
Cons: It does require some work on a yearly or less basis. needs a good cleaning
The Bottom Line: These are great machines but are not maintenance free. They take a little TLC. If your not handy it could can see how it could get frustrating.

I have successfully repaired my skeeter vac several times. I had to upgrade some of the materials but the two machines I have are working on their fourth season. If you are down and in the dumps about your skeeter vac, email me at Gkconst@comcast.net. I will be in touch to let you know a way to fix it. Heck, I'm even considering fixing them for others for a fee.
The machine is a science. It's placement is critical. The geographical location is also important for lure type. It is not a hands free set up. It will not catch each and every mosquito. But, it does lower the amount greatly depending on where you put it. Obviously in the sun is not good. Putting it in a area with high winds is not ideal either. If its windy, the gasses, heat and lure are diluted and bugs can not hone in on it. So pay attention to the prevailing wind.
Another thing that I have done is place a 100 lbs. bottle of propane at each machine and it goes all season with out having to worry about filling bottles all the time. The 100 lbs. bottle needs a adapter to be connected due to the difference in connection style. But once that's done, its a one time set up in the spring and your cooking. The price for a 100lbs. bottle to fill is far less than a 20 lbs. bottle cause your usually paying by the gallon vs. the weight. Thanks Gregg Kennedy, NH
