I shopped long and hard before I bought a new dog carrier. I already had two or three and none of them were perfect so when we got a second small dog I was on the lookout for "the one". In the past I had purchased purse-like carriers that were cute but a 10-pound dog gets heavy after awhile. Now I was adding another 5-pound pup and I knew I wanted a rolling carrier.
There are many on the market now and lots of them have extra features. This one is a 4-in-1 carrier meaning that it is also a car seat, airline safety seat, backpack carrier, and rolling carrier. All features that were desirable. I've never taken my dogs on a flight but I did want a carrier that afforded me the opportunity should I decide to.
Airline regulations are different, so be sure to check with your desired airline before purchasing a carrier, but general guidelines are that the carrier must zip completely closed and fit beneath the seat in front of you. This one does both. Additionally, because this one is on wheels, it will make traversing any airport much easier.
For everyday use it's a fabulous carrier. It converts easily from rolling carrier to backpack. The wheels are mounted on a hard plastic and cardboard mounting piece that slides into place at the bottom of the carrier. The double wheels make it ride smoothly and easily. When you want to stow it away or convert it to a backpack you pull the wheel piece off and it flattens for storage or you then pull the backpack straps out and put in on.
It has plenty of ventilation, something that was very important to me. The cheaper knockoffs of this carrier have ventilation only on the front side and not the sides. The front can be rolled down and snapped into place so your pup can ride with her head sticking out if you like. There's a leash strap inside to clip your pup's collar or harness to to keep her safely inside.
Used as a car seat in the upright position, it keeps your pup safely inside and you concentrating on your driving. The car seatbelt is looped through the straps in the back and then buckled. Again the pup's collar is used with the leash strap so she can't leave the seat. It's very comfortable for the pup and since it is the carrier too, you don't have to do any transferring from a carrier to a car seat. Because it sits upright it doesn't add much height; however, a blanket in the bottom of the carrier can.
We also use it as a travel bed. By laying it on its back (the same position as in the airplane) it makes a lovely bed, one that the dogs recognize and feel comfortable in, even away from home. With their favorite blankets in it they're very comfortable.
The carrier comes in three sizes and three colors. We opted for khaki but wish we'd purchased the black. The khaki is showing the dirt too quickly but it does spot clean well. It also comes in red, which would have been my choice, but my husband liked the khaki.
We chose the medium because the large is not airline compliant and we want one as large as possible so the pups would have as much room as possible.
The durability is fabulous, the zippers strong and sturdy, the mesh is fine and well made. There are plenty of pockets to store accessories and the telescoping handle is fine (although I'm 5'10" and it could be a little longer for me).

Final Thoughts
This is an all-around perfect carrier. As someone who's got a back that's just not as young as it used to be, this is a perfect way to take my pup's with me and I'll never go back to the purse-style carriers. It's general all-around usefulness as a car seat, carrier, and travel bed can't be beat. Be sure to shop around. The prices vary widely. I paid $79 which included shipping.
