| ImAmes's Full Review: Sonicare Plus Model Pl 3 Sonic Electric Toothbrush |
Ok, I have to be honest right from the start here, I wasn't the best at brushing my teeth- I know, gross right? As a child it really was not encouraged in my home that much, so it took a backseat to everything else.
Now, as a 26 year old adult, I had a mouthful of cavities, decay, and bad breath. How I ever got my husband, I will never know! So when we moved to the area we live in now, I decided to take back control of my life-starting with my teeth!
I went to the Dentist, a GREAT one I might add, and after hearing my story, he wanted to help me out and GAVE me as a gift, a PL-3 Sonicare toothbrush! I was so touched that he wanted to help me so much, so I took it home to try!
Granted, I have NEVER had an electric toothbrush in my life! So I was a bit apprehensive about trying it out, but I knew that this was the first step in gaining back control of my dental life!
So What Did It Look Like?
The Sonicare Toothbrush comes in a blue package that contains the toothbrush and a holder for your counter. It has a thick handle to hold on to, and it is activated and stopped by a mint green button on the front. A clear small case also comes with it to just cover the bristles part, so you can keep dust and what not, from settling on it.
What Did It Feel Like?
Again, never had one of these before, so I was actually nervous turning it on. I put a small amount of my Crest Toothpaste on, this is KEY- do NOT put a lot on or your bathroom mirror will be a mess, and I turned it on once i placed it inside my mouth.
First it felt tingly, as I glided it over every tooth, and then it felt like it started to vibrate a bit more. I took caution using it near my teeth with problem areas, but even when I would come up to one, they didn't hurt and the Sonicare even seemed to make them feel better!
The Dentist told me to massage my gums with it as well, as they were VERY red and puffy. So in small circles I moved the toothbrush around, and every 30 seconds, it would beep to let me know to brush in a different area- a GREAT feature!
Is It Worth the Money?
Even though I recieved this as a gift, I think it is DEFINTIELY worth the money! I know many Dentists give out sample Sonicares in their offices with a $20 coupon off your next one, so it is something you may want to look into before investing in something you may not like! I have dropped my Sonicare more than once, and it has never broken, or stopped working. I have had the same battery in it for 2 months now, going on 3, so the battery life is incredible! It is a bit bulky to take on trips and such, but the rewards are great in the end!
So What Did I Think?
I LOVE this toothbrush and it has held up to the test of time! It is great to know that I can go to any Discount or Pharmacy and replace the battery and brush without having to buy the whole item all over again! Extra Brushes run about $14 and the batteries have a pretty good range in price. It was like having a massage in my mouth twice a day, making my gums and teeth feel clean and healthy!
I HIGHLY recommend this toothbrush for anyone looking to clean their teeth without a lot of effort, and who would like a better and more consistent clean than a regular toothbrush can provide!
