When I originally read the reviews here on this product and then saw the new CDX-565MXRF I realised it had changed and thought Sony had realised they had a problem and fixed it. Not so...
I purchased mine a Future Shop in Canada for CAD$200 (US$180) and then installed it in my F150 pickup. I followed the instructions connecting the leads to switched and constant power and then pressed the "reset" but when I plugged it all in. I then loaded it with 5 store bought CD's and 5 home mad MP3 disks. 2 of the MPS disks were made on an audio JVC recorder and 3 were made on my IBM laptop. All of the disks play in my Clarion CD on my Royal Star Venture motorcycle... no problem.
Well.... the Sony not old couldn't muster up a display on the wired remote, it also went from disk to disk and couldn't find any of them that it would attempt to play.
I checked all of my connections and even put a tester on the cable plug to be sure the correct power was being applied to the unit.. it was.. all should be fine but still no display at all and the unit continued to go from disk to disk reloading and reloading each disk is series without so much as a peep out of it.
Nice... dead out of the box. So much for Sony's improved unit. I note this unit is made in Thailand. I remember the day when Sony was made in Japan and it meant quality, but now it seems to mean junk made anywhere for more profit.
I'm afraid I have to agree with "umgoblue525" who reported earlier.. it won't play MP3's and it's simply not worth the hostile to install. It's junk and back to Future Shop it goes.
